My name is Ellie, I am 21 years old, and I have been living with Type 1 Diabetes for 20 years.
I hail from Toronto, Ontario, Canada and am currently attending Quest University Canada in Squamish, British Columbia, Canada where I am working towards my B.A.Sc. and focussing on neuroscience.
I am passionate about so many things! I don’t know where to begin!
I decided to start this blog because I wanted to document how unique and fascinating Type 1 Diabetes culture is. I find it mesmerizing, the ways that T1D culture intersects with other parts of our identities! No two people experience T1D in the same way, so this blog inevitably explores how my experiences as a: mixed-race female, (hopefully) neuroscientist, Canadian, musician, campie, skier, traveler, photographer, and a human intersect with T1D.
People living with Type 1 Diabetes are so much more than our condition and this is a place to showcase how the parts of our identity intersect.
I will refrain from writing much more here and encourage you to read my blog to get to know me more!
